Roll over, High chair, etc.

This weekend was the first time that Elijah and I were alone without Paul. We had a fun weekend together. I learned that I don't like to stay in the house, but preferred to be outside. So Friday, we spent the whole day with friends and today, we spent the day at the Huntington Library with a college girlfriend. Elijah tried the high chair for the first time today at the Rose Tea Room. Of course we padded the chair with two blankets as he is not able to sit up completely on his own, but with some help, he did okay. He has been also trying to roll over. On Thursday, he rolled over from his tummy to back on his own, but since then, he hasn't figured out how to do it again. He has been practicing rolling over from back to tummy for some time, and today, he rolled over all on his own with no problem a few times. He is growing so quickly! He also sat up by himself for more than a few seconds. I think he is going to be an active kid. He does not like to stay put and when he is on the floor on his tummy, he is already starting to inch himself on the blanket. He has all the instinct of crawling, which is fun to watch. We also had a tough day with nursing.... The theories that my friend and I came up with are that he might be ready to drop a feeding, he is teething, or it was the kimchee that I ate... we will see the next couple of days....

Day 6

We went out for breakfast at Boots and Kimos, which is known for its Macadamia pancakes. The pancakes were tasty, although the service was horrible.

It was a hot and sunny day. So, the little kiddies were kept under shady trees. One was in a stroller, another was carried in an Ergo, and the other on a sling. I thought it was a classic photo to take.

The rest of the day was spent at the beach or in the house just enjoying one another.

Day 5

We spent the morning taking family photos and said good-bye to hal-ah-buji and hal-muh-ni who were returning to East Asia. We were all sad to see them leave. They are incredible people of faith who continue to impress me (mom) with their teachability, devotion, and love for Jesus. I hope Paul and I leave that kind of legacy for Elijah.

Unfortunately, I don't have the photo of the whole gang....I'll have to get it and post.

Day 3 & 4 North Shore

On day 3, daddy, uncle Jin, Aaron, and Daniel, and hal-ah-buji went deep sea fishing. They caught a few fish.

On day 4, we had a Korean BBQ picnic at bay in North Shore. Daddy also served up some nice sashimi! Elijah played with cousin Christian in the ocean water--well, no splashing around yet, but they got to feel the warm waters of North Shore. It was a blast!

Day 1 in Waimanalo, Hawaii

We stayed at a beach house with a stunning beach just steps away from the backyard. Elijah was so fascinated by the water that we couldn't get a photo with him looking at the camera!

Elijah's Meets Hal-ah-buji and Hal-muh-ni

We are in Oahu for a family vacation with my side of the family! It is Elijah's and my first trip to Hawaii. Haal-ah-buji and hal-muh-ni (grandpa and grandma in Korean) have had to enjoy Elijah vicariously through photos and videos for the last four months as they have been in East Asia as field workers. They finally met for the first time! Now, they get to hold and play with him. All three of them are having the greatest time. Moreover, Elijah gets to be around his uncles, aunts, and cousins who adore him!!
